I got a letter in late January, saying that I was accepted for the BA and in the running for a scholarship.

Still haven’t heard from BFA… I’m going crazy!

I don’t have much to add to this, as I didn’t audition for the BFA, but I love the BA program and everything LA has to offer. It’s also a fantastic place to be if you want to jump into film acting with all the opportunities on campus with our phenomenal film school.

Also, I saw this: “However, it is not possible to enter as a BA in theatre and switch to BFA later”
and I do believe that one current student entered as a BA/musical theatre minor and ended up switching to the BFA (and keeping the MT minor), but I’m pretty sure that that is incredibly rare.

Is it possible to switch from the BFA to the BA? I’m still waiting on USC. :O

Sassystage - yes, totally - but you have to make up the GE requirements (language and math too - I think - right wisdomsomehow?)

In the junior class - one Spring admit BA auditioned for the BFA and was admitted the following fall for the BFA freshman class — also, one other student auditioned after their freshman year as a BA and was admitted as a sophomore BFA.

Good - good luck - everyone is waiting and it should be any day now!

nope! no math for us theatre majors! Just three semester’s worth of a foreign language, which you can test out of (I did).

although for some reason, it seems like a lot of the freshman acting teachers are obsessed with the play Proof, so having knowledge of advanced concepts is helpful, but not at all necessary. :)

Sorry- have not read whole thread.
Can a BA major in Theater? Minor in Theater?
Can a non-Theater BA or BFA try out for productions?
Take can a non-Music major Vocal Performance classes in the Music Dept?
D is thinking of PoliSci major but wants to continue with singing and MT in any number of ways during college.
Thanks and good luck to all!
