<p>excellent idea!!</p>

<p>This has reminded me to whip my camera out. I've been meaning to take some pictures of the campus and the surrounding area and gorges. If you know of any sweet spots that are must gets, let me know otherwise I'm just going to spend a weekend wandering around campus.</p>

<p>Wait until approx. October 7-15, just after the leaves have all changed.</p>

<p>I jotted that down. Expect a new thread around that time with some fresh pictures. </p>

<p>I've have this odd desire to collect a bunch of fallen leaves and store them in my apartment for a bit. Come the middle of February, I'll take them out and put them under a random tree in the arts quad. I wonder what people would think...</p>

<p>My wife and I came up for a weekend this summer, for the first time since my daughter left town. As always, we had a wonderful time. A tour of the plantations, a wonderful dinner and then a moonlight stroll in Stewart Park, looking out onto the lake on and after the sun set.The next morning we hit the Farmer’s Market and Wegmans (which we find to be better than our local supermarkets in the NYC suburbs!) and then drove back home.</p>

<p>It’s actually better there when you’re NOT a student. Because we don’t have prelims…</p>

<p>I came across this panoramic shot a long time ago, and then I could never find it again.
But now I did:

I think the expanse of this photo is just amazing, from the Ag quad and North campus all the way down to Collegetown.
Just remarkable!</p>

<p>If you want to orient yourself to what you are looking at , it should be easy to pick out McGraw Tower and the Johnson Art Museum as landmarks, then you can compare to a campus map.</p>

<p>Speaking of amazing, I still remember what it’s like walking on campus when it looks like this, breathing the cool., crisp air that I could feel in my lungs. My best memories, really

<p>Some of these photos are from a while ago. Keep in mind they are always doing lots of significant construction, both on Cornell’s campus and in Ithaca proper. For example that panoramic shot is from 2005, it looks like they were doing a lot of construction on West campus then, around Balch. And obviously this will not show the many significant renovations and new buildings that were subsequent to the photo: Physical Science building, Martha Van, Gates Hall, etc</p>
