Some problems with my letters of rec...?

I asked a teacher of mine if she could write me a letter of recommendation for a school I applied early action to. She did it all, sent it in at the right times and such. Problem was, the school never received it. I asked them if they would be able to wait, since I had everything else turned in on time. They allowed it, only they told me to make sure my teacher faxed it in this time around with an explanation. That was all well and done, the school later accepted me. (Whoo! =])

Now, the problem is, for the schools with the regular deadline, my teacher sent them the letters some 2-3 weeks ago, at least two colleges have yet to receive them (Or so their online application status thingie says). I've had to e-mail the other colleges to check if they received anything, but I'll need to wait given that it's the New Year...

Question is: Would all schools be this nice to me, if I have everything else turned in before the deadline and the teacher's letter of recommendation is not?

Colleges will typically email you around Feb if you are still missing documents, at which time you can still resubmit things. Otherwise, all colleges are dealing with an avalanche of mail, so it's highly likely that the colleges do have the rec, but they haven't had a chance to file it.

Good luck!

Yea... teacher stuff gets a little leeway

I'm in the same situation as you

They'll mail me in mid-February? Even though their deadlines are on/about the 15th of January? And they'll STILL let me resubmit things?

...That sounds too good to be true...=P...

For things such as teacher recs, yes. They're generally pretty understanding; it could have gotten lost in the mail, for example. Now if a lot of things are missing, that might look a little suspicious...and of course your portion of the application must be on time.
