Some Q:s regarding UK system and Univ.

Hello, I have some questions regarding grade conversion and UK admissions, especially Oxbridge, Imperial and such.

General information about Swedish System of Grading that might be needed to understand the scores that I refer to later on.

I'm from Sweden with a 4-grade system IG, G, VG, MVG where MVG is the top grade and IG is failed. When we convert these grades for admission to Swedish Universities, MVG is worth 20points, VG is worth 15points, G is worth 10 points and IG is worth 0 points. We then multiply these points with the number of hours studied in each subject. For example 100hrs Math with the grade of VG would become 15*100= 1500 points. All the points are then added together and divided by 2400 (the total number of hours you study in sweden) and you get a median. x of 20 possible.

My grades:
Anyway - I've got a score of 19.18/20, MVG(approx A in US/UK system) in every subject (Physics(250hrs)(all the physics they offered at my school), Math(450hrs)(of 500 hours offered) which I would like to major/BA in as an undergraduate.

Questions:
I'm asking for an educated guess of what this grade median would "convert" to in UK education systems.

Also I would like to know how the interview system works in the UK. I've read that you might need to take a test during this interview. Also, if possible, any links to pages with information, test examples or such that are regarding the test format, would be much appreciated.

As you might've guessed, I plan to get a BA in either physics or math, preferably physics. Also "chances" at known UK univ. would be appreciated. And please be honest, I myself think Oxbridge and Imperial might be big reaches, but please, enlighten me :)

Thank you in advance, Andrew.

This is from the LSE websites, I couldn't find anything for Oxbridge or Imperial, but it even though it is not the kind of university you will attend, it has very high requirements so it can give you an idea of what the requirements for the top universities are.

For the Swedish Fullstandigt Slutbeytg fran Gymnasieskolan we would normally require an overall VG (Very Good) with MVG (Excellent) in certain subjects where appropriate. Applicants offering this qualification may also be required to sit the LSE Entrance Exam.

Thank you for your response. I actually thought the requirements were higher than that to be considered for the top universities in UK ;). But I guess the LSE entrance exam play quite a major part in the admission then, otherwise the majority of Students which attend "Swedish School of Economics" would probably be studying at LSE instead of SSE, as they have an 20.0 median entrance requirement.

They're rather looking for what you'll be able to achieve in the future than what you've done in the past! You're grades can (and will!) get you an interview (and maybe a test) but the interview and written work will decide whether you get accepted or not, i guess.

As far as I'm aware, only Oxbridge have entrance exams. I'm pretty sure you have a great chance at Imperial. No one is a sure in at Oxbridge but you should apply as you have the credentials. If you don't shoot you can't score.
