Some questions about an Econ/Math double major...

I have decided that I am most likely going to do a double major of econ (School of Business) and math. I have a couple questions about this.

1) I haven't taken econ since freshman year, and it was only a semester. What can I do over the summer to prepare?

2) I haven't taken a really high level of math so far, what can I do over the summer to prepare for that?

3) Would taken these two in a double major make tuition a lot more expensive, or do the two overlap in a way that would not be significant?

4) What would be a prospective first semester schedule?

5) Anything else you could tell me about either major would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

why through the college of business? you’ll end up taking all the business gen eds for no reason.

1) nothing, you’ll probably ace micro, and depending on who teaches macro next year, there isn’t much you can do during the semester, nevermind before school starts.

2) what do you mean “really high level math”?

3) having two majors doesn’t really affect tuition. especially if we switch to block tuition. you would waste money taking certain classes in the business college if you majored in business econ vs clas econ.

4) depending on if you’ve taken calc yet: next calc class, micro, humanities, random class. entirely dependent on what you need, but i’d recommend jumping right into your major classes.

5) get to know your econ professors, they’re great people. old, but great professors to have. as a fellow math/econ’er, i’m glad you’ve chosen this path. its fun. there are some other threads related to this i’d recommend searching for for more information about things other people have asked.
