Some questions about applying for transfer..

I'm currently a second-year student (at a college ranked in the top 20). I really want to transfer to another college, because I hate it here. Some of the colleges that I'm considering include: Cornell, NYU, Columbia, Johns Hopkins.

I have a few questions about transfer applications in general..

1) Is it better (in terms of getting accepted) to apply for spring or fall transfer?

2) Will I get less financial aid than regular applicants?

3) Is it a good idea to apply to multiple schools for transfer? Or would that hurt my chances of getting accepted?

4) I did get into Johns Hopkins before, but turned them down. Would that hurt my chances of getting accepted as a transfer student?

I'd really appreciate any answers. I'm currently in hell, and I really, really want to get out. Thanks.

what school are you in?

people who dont mention their school are soooooooooo annoying.

I hate that too! i think the OP goes to either Notre Dame, Vanderbilt or Emory.

I don't think the Fall and Spring acceptance rates differ much. Hm, actually I think Spring admission for transfers is less because they only accept a very small amount of people, generally.

You'll get a lot less financial aid usually, if any.

You can apply to as many schools as you want. Doesn't matter at all.

If you were accepted before, I think that means that they're probably going to accept you again. Just make sure you mention you applied before.
