i am going to last session orientation; is it going to be hard to get into this class?

who is the best teacher for this course. it seems like Dr.Hespenheide or Dr. Pires will be teaching this class for fall 2008.

the class might fill up by then, but people always drop during the first few weeks so you can always count on showing up and asking the prof to add you once space becomes available.

I had Pires for LS1; I don't know anything about Hespenheide (check bruinwalk.com?). She gets the job done and wouldn't be a bad choice for the class (other profs might be easier though). Just keep up on the work because there are biweekly quizzes and clicker questions in class.

i am deciding between Hespenheide and Pires.... hard decision..
according to bruinwalk.com.. Hespenheide seems little easier!
im still not sure plz help!

Pires is a fantastic lecturer/ you will never fall asleep...Although she is rather demanding with what she wants out of you and expectations. Great teacher though if you're interested in the material.

just a friendly reminder to those freshman that are thinking about taking LS1 - you do NOT need to take LS1 before LS2.... in fact many people don't even take LS1 until after they take LS2-4. so, its not the end of the world if you don't get in the first time around.

You don't need LS1 material for LS2. Take a look on the list of material covered in each course, and you'll see. If you've had AP bio and done well, you should be okay (but don't slack just because you're a freshman)

There are not waitlists for LS1 (or LS2-4).
Your best bet is to keep an eye on the registrar during week 0 and 1 and hope that someone drops. It's a big class with 2 lectures, someone is bound to drop eventually.

is LS1-4 in order of difficulty?
as somebody said, i don't need to take LS1 first, could i take it in random order, for example LS3, LS4, LS1, LS2
