I am going to be a FTIC at UCF in August and apparently every incoming student must take UCF's math placement test online. I did that, but the problem is that I scored far below what I believe is my level. You see, in high school, I was in the dual enrollment program at my local college (Santa Fe College) and I have taken College Algebra (passed with an A), Precalculus (passed with a B+), Trigonometry (passed with a B), Calculus 1 (passed with a B), and Calculus 2 (failed with a D). The problem is that on the math placement test I scored to a College Algebra level. I obviously don't need to take College Algebra over again. That would mean that in 2 years of Dual Enrollment, I learned nothing in math. I don't know how I scored so low either. I felt good taking the test. So these are my questions:
Am I going to have to take College Algebra all over again?
Does UCF let me see which questions I got right and which questions I got wrong on this test?
Am I screwed if I want to be an engineer?
Is it possible that since the computer expects exact answers, and mine could've been formatted differently that I got answers right, but the computer said it was wrong because it was expecting the answers a certain way?
What is wrong with me?
Thank you for reading.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section of the forum. This is my first post and I don't know my way around this website yet. So yea.

Do you mean this test?

You may want to contact UCF’s math department for more of your questions.

If you had to go to dual enrollment to take algebra, trigonometry, and precalculus (which should be normally offered in high school), it is entirely possible that you went to a very low performing high school (and a community college that had to lower its standards to match). That’s a pretty bad hand to be dealt from the start.

Yes. That test.
And while my high school didn’t offer those classes, that’s beside the point. I chose to Dual Enroll.
Santa Fe College is actually a pretty good school. It’s kind of like an extension of UF.

If you have college credit for Calc 1, then you don’t have to retake it. Of course this depends on if your Community College credit transfers to UCF.

The reason they make all incoming students (including transfers) take the placement test is because its very difficult to go through everyone’s transcript and determine where they have credit, in time for registration. If you bring a copy of your transcripts with you to orientation you should be able to get an override into Calc 2 by your advisor.

Sweet. That makes me feel a lot better.

Every summer try to take a math class at your local community college; that’s what I plan to do until I complete my math requirements for my major.
