Why “thinkwell” is much cheaper than “Keystone National School”? It does’t give you the textbook?

If you take Algebra1 in 8th grade, and that’s the high school diploma requirement, so does that counts in your high school GPA?

If you take a course online and it does transfer the grade to your high school, so does that count in GPA?

What are the advantages of correspondence than online? (it’s for the Keystone National School)

bump
Is there anybody can answer any of them?

Online couse doesn't count in GPA but it shows up on your transcript and allows you to skip a course.

^ That's not always true. I'm taking an AP course online and it's counting towards my GPA. It depends on either your high school or district.

Mine, affects my GPA...:(

I'd really like to know number 5 and what correspondence is.

I don't think there is a difference between a "correspondence" and an "online" course. Our school's "correspondence" system allows us to take required courses like PE, health, business, practical arts, etc. through a nearby university's long-distance education system. We pay them a few hundred dollars, get textbooks and materials, and complete weekly lessons/quizzes. Later we take a mid-term and final exam administered by a school counselor. Some of these courses are online-based (ex. send in your typing online) while others you have to send in your homework in the mail.

These courses are generally very easy, but the downside is that they do cost quite a bit of money and they do "lower" your GPA, since they aren't honors or AP courses. Then again, if you take them in summer school, or in school, they do the exact same to your GPA.

tyrus, you should always check with your school/counselors to make sure these systems are what they use. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to take some Exeter summer course and get it to count for credits at my school.
