Some questions about the Honors Program

Can anyone who is currently in the honors program but wasn't there from the very beginning tell me how it works? I know you have to maintain a relatively high GPA and then apply.

What are the perks? I heard from a friend that you can pick classes earlier than most others. What's the quickest way to enter the program? My HS GPA isn't high enough to be in there immediately, but I'm sure I can work my way into it once at UCI.

Is there a minimum # of quarters you have to take first? Because I have the choice to take classes during the summer, will that get me into the honors program quicker?

Thanks a lot

Look at this page for info about applying: [Current UCI Students](http://www.honors.uci.edu/prospectiveuci.php)

Here’s a link with the benefits offered for CHP students: Benefits

There’s another discussion about after admission application on this site. “Working your way into it” with a lower high school GPA and/or lower SAT/ACT scores would be unusual, but perhaps it could be done. Best of luck!

This is kind of off topic but is the Honors Program hard at UCI as a Bio Major?

Could any current UCI students who entered CHP comment after CC transfer comment on the program? It would be very helpful in determining whether going to UCI for CHP is worth it given it would only be for 2 years.
