Hi, I was wondering these about Mcgill and canadian unis in general. I'd love if you would help answer these:

1) I was predicted a 39 in IB, so will they only revoke an offer if I fail the IB for my final results?

2) Since my transcripts were sent during senior year, will they never see my GPA for the second semester of senior year? Can I slack off?

3) Will they compare my predicted IB grades with my actual grades or GPA? I was predicted a 7 in Econ but I have a B, and I was predicted a lot of 7s despite my grades being mostly B+.

Hi! My college counsellor kind of told us the answers to these questions

1) The offers are usually saying maintain academic standard and achieve diploma (especially McGill). So I guess just aim for what you’re predicted or around that area. Canadian unis can revoke your offer cause they’re conditional.

2) They can ask for your second semester grades before they give you an offer, so don’t slack off lol (McGill is again known for this).

3) I don’t think they’ll compare it much, I think for IB students they focus more on predicted grades than actual school grades because its harder.

I’m doing IB in Jamaica but I’m a Canadian citizen.
I applied for Science and Arts & Science at McGill. I was predicted around 39/40 (with bonus). I also applied to a few others (UofT, UBC, Western, Queens, McMaster, Dal)
