I want to go into engineering either Kansas State or University of Kansas. i was initially aiming for more competitive schools but my GPA will not allow me to get in. Anyway, back to the main point, I have a 2.5 GPA currently due to some personal stuff and messing up in some course work, but i got a 31 on my ACT and I was wondering will this get me in? If i don't get in what should I do?

I am planning to take the ACT again in December and this time my score should be higher because i actually practiced this time a lot, last time I did not prepare at all. I have taken multiple AP classes and Mostly honors . My ECs include debate and a few clubs one of which i helped start and am an officer of.

I would appreciate any advice on how to get in and if there are any scholarships. My main concern is that if i don't get in to engineering out of high school what paths can i take to get in?

I assume you are a KS resident? You’ll need to meet QA requirements:
http://www.kansasregents.org/resources/PDF/1780-1048-QAPublication_Final_2010[1]2013-2014.pdf

I think meeting the QA standards is sufficient for K-State. KU appears to require a 3.0 minimum GPA: [Freshmen admission requirements - KU Admissions](http://admissions.ku.edu/apply/requirements/freshmen/?s=eng)

If things don’t work out, here is transfer information:

“Transfer students must have a cumulative college/university GPA of 2.75. Students with a 2.5 to 2.74 GPA are eligible for admission into engineering undeclared, or ENUN.”
