Can you bypass an introductory course that is in your major? For example, if i major in biology, can I omit the introductory bio course with an AP score? Secondly, can SAT II scores be used in place of AP Scores; I only got a 3 in Bio AP but a 710 on the SAT II. Also, how's the email service at duke? Do you guys like it or prefer gmail/hotmail etc? And is there anyway I could start doing research through duke during this summer, even before i'm a freshman? Thanks.

As for Biology, you need 4 or 5 in AP Biology. SAT II Biology doesn't count. If you received 4 or 5 (I'm afraid you didn't), you can skip Biology 19 and are eligible to take Biology 26L or 100-level course. :]

paniwani, yes you will need to take Bio25L in the Fall (only AP credit counts) Regarding Bio26L, you may take a 100-level diversity class in lieu of 26L. In the Spring, you have a much larger choice of bio classes to pursue (either a 100-level diversity, bio118 genetics/cell bio, bio116 ecology/evolutionary bio, or some other classes)
