Some simple questions, I hope you don't mind :)

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for reading this!

So, I am interested in applying to Cornell.... and basically there are two questions:

I am thinking of retaking either my SATs or SAT IIs in January.... My SAT score in 2020 (670 reading, 680 math, 670 writing), and my SAT IIs are 650 World History, and 630 Literature. Which do you think will be more beneficial to retake and why?

My dad went to Cornell but he transferred to another school and did not complete his degree there. Can I still put him as alumni relations seeing how they only asked if your parents attended Cornell?

Thank you again everyone!

Personally I would tell you to retake the SAT subject tests cause they are relatively lower

An alumni is someone who attended or graduated, so it seems okay to put but not sure though.

Are you a junior or a senior? Which school within Cornell will you be applying to?

^ I think he’s a senior cause he’s banking on january as the last SAT date and is in a dilemma between taking the SAT or Subject Tests.

Both scores are low enough to put you at a competitive disadvantage. My advice would be to retake the SAT I and apply to a college that does not require subject tests, like CALS. If you have the opportunity and ambition, you might also benefit from taking the ACT.

For “most” majors the SAT I is significantly more important than the SAT II’s. Most of the students from our HS who’ve been admitted to Cornell had subject scores in the 600’s.

Thanks guys! (and I’m a “she” btw lol) I’m applying to the College of Arts and Sciences for Government.

I would retake the SAT 1 and try to get 2200+.

Don’t use your father as alumni. He did not graduate from Cornell.

Thank you everyone! I did not put my dad as an alumni and I think I will take my SAT Is. I just hope they’ll forgive my really low SAT II scores.
