Some Thoughts Before the Decisions

Although I’ve checked back on this page every now and then, it’s been awhile since I myself have posted anything.

For many of you waiting to receive your decision status in a few days, I am well aware of the anxiety that follows. I am also aware of the pain to wait, only to receive a rejection. For those of you who are accepted: congratulations! You deserve it! But for those who are rejected and wonder why, remember that the admissions process is not a machine-like system that is oblivious to emotions and criticisms.

Below is a section from a post I wrote last year. Good luck to all of you.

For those in the future who are unlucky enough to experience rejection, I am truly sorry. We are all in the same boat. Hopefully, the following blogs can provide some comfort. Afterwards, message me and we can talk (hopefully, I’ll still be active for next year).

Remember: life is not a zero-sum game. Help future applicants (to a certain extent); who knows, you may be providing the tools to make someone’s dream come true! Even though you may not be a part of the MIT class, it does not diminish nor reflect your capabilities to make an impact in society.

Thanks for sharing this. I sent a link to the first essay to my son this Pi eve. No matter what happens, we are so proud of him. There is nothing more he could do and whatever happens is meant to be. Good luck to all.
