Here's what I noticed:

Either people get accepted into multiple ivies or none at all. Rarely do people get accepted into only one ivy.

First of all, is this true? This is entirely based on my observations, so I could be wrong. Secondly, this makes me think that there's a certain thing Ivies look for. It might not be a solid, concrete thing, but maybe an abstract one.

Thoughts?

I don’t think you can say anything terribly definitive about this because most people don’t apply to all eight Ivies. Obviously they all look for similar things, but I don’t think there’s any specific magical quality they always go for, except maybe the quality of having parents who want to give the school a large donation.

yeah why is this? i want a mathematical explanation.

All of the kids from my school who applied to multiple ivies only got into one - last year’s Val got into Harvard but rejected from Brown and Columbia, while #3 got into Brown but rejected from Harvard.
