Hello everybody, I am now a Queensboro community college student.I am a freshman 2010 fall semester and i just finished my first semester. Thank god, I got pretty good grades, 4.0 GPA. I really want to transfer to Stony Brook after I achieve 24 credits. I am now major in engineering science. I know I need to get at least 3.0 GPA and 24+ credits. But my situation is that I didnt take any SAT or ACT tests. Because I finished my highschool in another country.I just took ACT placement tests when i got into queensboro and i passed it. I am sooooo worry about that. Because I've checked on the website that they need your SAT or ACT scores.... What should I do? Anybody had the same situation before like me? Please help me.....

If you’re planning to apply after you’ve received 24+ credits, you do not need to submit your SAT scores.

hellosquareone- Are you sure about that? Did you have the same situation as me or some friend did?

You can go to stony brook’s website. I believe hellosquareone is correct.

I did check the website. But i didnt find it…

What type of engineering? try to look here

I looked up the requirement to transfer into the biomedical engineering and the school says you need to have finish Calculus I and II and Physics I and II with at least a 3.2 prior to matriculation

bottlecap- thank you. i checked. Its mechanical engineering. But it doesnt mention any thing about SAT…

[Stony Brook University Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.stonybrook.edu/ugadmissions/applying/trans_criteria.shtml)

^I don’t think you need the SAT/ACT if you have completed 24 credits.

from the link above:

What We Look for in a Transfer Applicant

For admission purposes, you are a transfer student if you have registered at a college or university after graduating from high school. Applicants are required to have performed well in a strong academic program, having completed at least 24 credits with a GPA of 3.0 or higher by the time they submit their application.

If you have earned fewer than 24 credits at the time of application, your high school transcripts and SAT scores must also be submitted (only students with strong secondary school credentials will be considered for admission).

nysmile- its nice to see u here… im in NY too… thats really a good news for me…btw, where did u get these from?

I found the info on the SUNY Stony Brook website (admissions section for transfer students).
Go to the link that I provided in the above post and you’ll see that it’s the SUNY Stony Brook website.

nysmile-thank you again. btw, r u in stony brook as a transfer?

No, I don’t attend Stony Brook. I’m a parent of college kids (they don’t attend Stony Brook).
My friend’s son just started at Stony Brook as a freshman.

Good luck to you and I hope everything works out.
