okay. a few months ago, i was caught between rice and northwestern. and honestly, i loved EVERYTHING about rice. it just felt right for me. but my parents were more for northwestern as it had a group of singaporeans there and was more "known" for economics and engineering. since they were paying the $$, i turned rice down. and now i'm regretting biggggg time. i m completely unexcited about starting school at NU. reading rice forums interest me more than reading NU's. and i dream about being in sid rich/ wiess. haha. and i'm so sad i made the wrong choice. :( i think i'm going crazyyyy. somebody save me!

Start reading about Northwestern, and join their facebook group. Figure out which clubs you want to join and sports you want to play. Investigate professor research interests in your field. Read about great student hangouts and restuarants close to campus. Launch yourself fully into your new school - and, if after a fully committed and make-the-best of it semester, you really want to transfer to Rice, apply for a transfer. What you are experiencing is known as "buyer's remorse", and it is fairly common.

Hey,

My parents wanted me at Duke, and thankfully, I made the right choice for me to go to Rice.

I agree that you should at least try out NU with an open mind. Go there ready to fall in love with the school because NU truly does have a lot to offer. Be sociable.
If you still don't like it come transfer app time, there's always that option.

Good luck. [=
