Somebody lied!

Somebody told me that she got into UCB. She already received a letter. I don’t think she got in because 1) UCB hasn’t sent it out 2) she doesn’t get that great of grades (im assuming) 3) she took stats and anatomy senior year. she didnt even take pre-calc. IS SHE LYING???

I believe you already answered your own question.

hmmm...interesting. It amazes me that people would lie about things like this. The only way she could possibly have been notified of her acceptance is if she had interviewed for the Regents' Scholarship...and even then no letters were given out...

yeah people from my school lied too lol (im out of state)

u know i have noticed that the people that have lied about their college acceptance are mostly the ones that did poorly in school. for instance, some chick said she got into UCLA in early March and I was also like what the? cuz UCLA was supposed to release decisions in Mid March. This girl had no chance in getting in UCLA.

this sort of sounds like one kid at my school

here are his lies

he got into berkeley ed in his junior year
he got into harvard ea this year under some "special program"
he got a 280 on his psat's
he is a world class violoinist and water polo player
he knows arabic(someone actually knew arabic and tried to test him on it, that was funny)
he is the co-owner of a publicly held corporation(he couldnt remember the name of the corporation)

overall, I think its rather funny but also rather sad
I really think he has a psychological disorder

oh, and he claims to be going out with the hottest girl in school even though the girl has said "I would never date that creep"

"I would never date that creep" lol

Call the guy who claims he knows arabic an "erhabe" lol

nobody really takes him seriously anymore, one time I tried to confront him by going to the harvard.edu website and asking him where this "special program" was and he couldnt locate it for me. He also couldnt tell me the name of the dean of admissions

omg you are hilarious sempitern

"Somebody told me that she got into UCB. She already received a letter."

Steaky, just have that person show you the acceptance letter she received. If she refuses to produce it, you know that she is lying!

the guy in my schools brought in his berkeley admit letter but guess what

he signed his name and not anyone elses

I dont think Berkeley would release any admission information yet.....becasue my borther got the Regents Scholarship, and when they interviewed him the interviewer still told him "well, to be selected to be interviewed is only of the select few; however, it does not mean you got accepted into Berkeley (even though it does lol)." anyways, im just sayin it isnt that easy to get an admission from berkeley so early.

ha! what a mean interviewer! everyone who checked in at LA on Sunday were told that they were accepted and Congratulations.

"Call the guy who claims he knows arabic an "erhabe" lol"

LOL.

If the guy did know Arabic, I'd also feel sorry for him. Years of poring over the spidery Arabic alphabet has addled my brain, too. shdjlsdsdkdf.

shdjsdsdkdf = what arabic word, nkay :p?

what does "erhabe" mean?

I think I have better things to do than to prove liars are liars.

Well wouldnt it be a nasty surprise if they were really rejected from UCB...lol

Also commenting on sempitern's comment...he couldnt have received a 280 on the psats because the highest one can receive is 230 or 240, so I've heard...lol

So many people lie/exaggerate on cc as well...some come off to being total geniuses spending "approx 10 hours tutoring others, 10 hours volunteering at a hospital, 15 hours practicing sports" There are only so many hours in a week and some are spent sleepign and eating. Its so funny to read such posts..

^^

Hahaha sDaLi87 so true.

There was this guy that said he has a 1348 or something like that on the SATs...intersting score

Not to mention GPAs rounded to the hundred thousanth place...that was another goodie.

I think it's ego--some people just want to have the right to say they got something and must lie; they can't stand to be humiliated or be seen "lower" (in their own eyes) than others so they fib.

It is the comedy of human life.
