Somebody tell me my chances. Thank you! :)

Can someone tell me what my chances are? I'm really new to this website so I hope this post thing worked... hahaha. I am a rising senior from North Virginia. I am also a white female (I guess we post this.) I'm a legacy at Brown and UVA. Thank you so much!

GPA: Cumulative 3.95 (unweighted), Cumulative 4.45 (weighted)
Class Rank: My school doesn't rank, but my guidance counselor told me I should be 1 or 2 out of 678. And this is a competitive Northern Virginia school.

SAT Scores:
March 2011 690 Math, 800 Critical Reading, 800 Writing (2290 composite.) Should I retake this to get the math up?! I'm applying to Ivy's and Oxford...and Oxford only wants writing above 700...but the Ivy's want all above 700...

ACT Scores: 33 Composite, 34 Reading, 34 Math, 32 English, 10 on the Essay (Writing), and 31 Science.

SAT Subject Tests:

Mathematics Level 2 (670)

ACADEMIC HISTORY:

ACADEMIC EXTRACURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT:
National Honor Society (2010-present)
Tri-M Music Honor Society (2010-present)
Hold a leadership position on my schools New Student Ambassador Program

PTSA Representative for my class

ACADEMIC AWARDS AND RECOGNITION:

Wellsley Women's College (in Boston) Book Award
American Association of Women Diversity Award
All-District Band since sophomore year, also second in the state in bass clarinet in sophomore year.
Got a grant to start my non-profit in Freshman Year
****Got a full ride scholarship with the State Department to live in Shanghai for 6 weeks and study intensive Chinese with a host family* (I will really emphasize this)
I will be going to Governor's School in Virginia for MUSIC this summer.
I also have illustrated 2 children's books, and my first children's book got 2 national awards. So my passions are: Community Service (my non profit), Music, Art (will submit supplement for this.), and Chinese.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR INVOLVEMENT:
Been in the nationally ranked marching band at my school since freshman year, will be a section leader this coming year. Also section leader in concert band.

Been participating in XC (since junior year- but WILL be captain next year.) and track since freshman year, and have been getting varsity letters in track and XC every season I've done it.
Illustrated 2 children's books- also have a 15 piece art portfolio that I will send in the art supplement.
Work with various charity organizations through my church youth group OTHER than my own nonprofit.

VOLUNTEERISM:
Over 300 Community Service Hours in the past year and a half.

My own non-profit (2009- present)
Church summer mission work volunteer (Summer 2009)

SPECIAL SKILLS/HOBBIES:
Gifted in analysis and interpretation of history, in particularly in World History.
I absolutely love the Chinese language and culture, and would like to major in Foreign Affairs with either a minor or double major in East Asian studies.
AAAAAND I would still like to participate in music somehow. I love music too much!

SOOOO...with that insanely long amount of stuff in mind...do you think I have a good chance at any of these schools? These are listed in the order of preference that I have right now- this may change. (But I visited UVA today and loved, loved, loved it!)

UVA (legacy) (applying Early Action)

Brown (also legacy) (applying Early Decision)

Harvard (applying Early Action)

Stanford

Yale

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS AND HELPING ME. REALLY. Much appreciated!!!

We have almost identical SAT scores (except I got 680 math). Did you mention the schools you are applying to?

Yup its at the waaaaay bottom of the list. Hahaha.

You are honestly like my twin. No joke. I also got 33 ACT, and HATE physics (almost got a B+, but squeaked out the A (yay for round ups!))

i think you will totally get in any school you apply to. your scores are fine, but if you feel kinda bummed about your sat cr score, just send in the act’s. but i think you did awesome on the sat’s anyway!!! (:

Hahah thanks needstostudy. Idk, I have a super-math-nerd family so when they saw the 690 they all went GASP Oh well.

Lilshowstoppa- where did you get into school? Or are you a rising senior too??

I also started my own non for profit, and I also take Chinese! Tai bang le!

Honestly, I think you’re a shoe-in at brown with your legacy, the fact is, your scores/GPA will already put you above the median applicant pool, and ivy league schools do not want to anger their alumni by rejecting QUALIFIED children (like you :))

Your EC’s are stellar as well… I mean, it’s always a crapshoot, but what reason would they have to say no??

bass… sorry, i just noticed you got a 690 in math, i thought i saw it on cr. Lol. but either way, amazing scores. Just try to see the acceptance rate at the schools of your choice, and maybe you’ll get to see how big are the chances of being admitted. because some schools have over 30000 applicants (like harvard) and that can be a bummer. but i think you TOTALLY have UCHICAGO because not so many apply as in stanford, yale, harvard, brown, ect. YOU GOT THIS THOUGH!

lilshow… has a point. your ec are amazing, no one can reject you!!

I am also a rising senior. As for the other top notch schools, I would say that you will get into at least one though it’s always so uncertain

I don’t say this very often to people…actually never, but you’re such a shoe-in for at least one or two ivies! Your ECs are great and pretty original too. At this point, I’d say you’re the most unique applicant I’ve seen on CC. Test scores won’t keep you out. Except at Oxford, since they don’t allow you to describe ECs unless they are super DIRECTLY related to your major. And I mean like medical lab experience to premed not clubs and things. But really, you seem like a great applicant. Best of luck and would you mind chancing me back?

Please excuse my unnecessarily abrupt and rude reply in the other thread.

Hey I’masophomore don’t worry!! It wasn’t rude-- trust me I imagine there are waaaay nastier posts on this website. Thank you drumwriter22 I’ll be sure to do that. :)
