I hate cheating, and have been called many things on this forum as a result. Still, I don't see what you can do. Your scores weren't even the same; if the points missed were on the same "hard" difficulty questions your case is even weaker.

You have nothing but circumstantial evidence. And, no one with an IQ of 125+ should be getting in the 200s (210s at least), so that already discredits the validity of your population sample. You can't prove anything. It's not even worth trying.

The elitist tone your post gives off is incredible. Seriously, I haven't heard people speak like that in a really long time (especially not in public)

I just thank God that I don't go to your school.

my sentiments exactly. i'm not disrespecting you personally, but i generally can't stand kids like you.

is the kid really affecting your life that much? just let it go...

and how do you know he didn't just sign up for SAT prep or something? he gets Bs and isn't in an AP class, therefore he can't do well on the SAT? that's real elitist dude.

if he really cheated, then he will get a significantly lower score on his SAT and he'll be kicked out of the program, as per the NM requirements.

but LOL, i can just imagine how stupid you would look if it turned out that he didn't cheat.

being a B student doesnt mean hes not smart...my friend has a 160+ IQ but has failed multiple classes(including gym). some people just dont try. anyway, who cares about the PSATs? get over yourself.

lol I'm sorry if I sounded elitist I was just really PO'ed when I wrote this

and I found out that he did cheat, my guidance counselor found a copy of his answers and compared them to mine and then questioned him and he admitted to cheating.
I apologize if I misrepresented my case, my logic might have seemed arrogant to you and I really don't like to sound like a ******.
I don't really know what happens to him but I don't care, I just didn't want someone to profit off my work, however I realize that it was stupid of me to vent my frustrations on here.
=D

And its Christmas so I have to go....
Merry Christmas

The school's not going to do anything. It's not like they could prove it anyway. They'd say "your answers line up with his," and he'd just accuse you of copying off him.
By the way, my gpa is 3.1 and I got a 222, so there is an (admittedly small) chance that his scores are legitimate.
Bottom line- don't worry about it. It doesn't really matter.
EDIT: I suppose I was wrong. Never mind, heh.

great.... do you feel better now?

how have you bettered yourself as a person by raising an uproar about this kid's PSAT score?

It is possible that the other student cheated off you.
It is also possible that the other student either doesn't apply himself in class but has the intelligence that a PSAT requires, or that they took prep classes and/or studied for the test, allowing that student a better score.
You have no way of knowing which occurred. Granted, the situation does look a bit suspicious, but without non-circumstantial evidence, there is little that you can do.

Cheaters always lose in life. It will always catch up to them. I used to be extremely bothered when people asked for the answers in my physics classes during the tests. I found people cheat, because they have lack of confidence in themselves.

Grades and IQ scores are not a reflection of how intelligent or successful a person is. It is a common misconception. Often, people who had more obstacles in academics do better in life than the people who went through it effortlessly. They learned to cope.

People are different in many ways. Just don't judge them based on two measurements.

Cheat because lack of confidence? Maybe they cheat because, they umm, don't know the answers? Why do you think so many cheat in high school, but then excel in college and don't cheat? Cheaters won't always lose in life, lol, especially when it comes to HIGH SCHOOL. If I cheat on a test on the book Harry Potter in a literature or english class, will it really make me lose? Of course not. There are many who cheat just because they simply don't have the time to deal with all this high school crap, and it's no wonder they end up val or salutorian because they DO stuff on their own too. They don't cheat on essays (some do of course). High school is all about prioritizing, and cheaters do prosper in some cases.

^LMU10^,
Sounds like a stretched justification for cheating
I guess some people are to important and intelligent for trivial matters such as day to day academic integrity
You can rationalize the hell out of anything you want
The truth is that people who do wrong will always find justifications for their actions
Did you know that plantation owners justified slavery? They believed that they were providing room, board, and work for otherwise savage Africans.

I double the statements above
SATs DO NOT = Intelligence
If anything they correlate slightly to DETERMINATION
This is not coming from a bitter test taker. I had a 155 PSAT my junior year, but with PRACTICE turned it into a 2230 SAT.
EAT IT COLLEGE BOARD!!!
YOU HAVE 200 BUCKS OF MY SUMMER EARNINGS AND I WANT IT BACK!!!
sorry needed to vent
I just payed 65.5 for college board to send a couple emails (otherwise known as official score reports)!

I think I made it clear it was a justification for high school cheating. I would never rat someone out for deliberately cheating in high school.
Who cares?

Academic Integrity has its place in college. Cheat and get kicked out.

Hahaha are you serious? Oh man, IMO he deserves that 228 more than you deserve your 232. Get a life if you honestly think that because you can perform well in a test of abstract concepts that have no real life significance that that makes you somehow "better" than everyone else. Watch how that kid who cheated on his test goes far in life while you twiddle your thumbs as you complain to your boss over how he stole your project report.

lol I don’t know why you guys got so offended

He did cheat off me by the way, I didn’t even have to prove it.
He also stole $1000 from the Senior class’s bank account (of which he was a vice-president).
He is now expelled and is universally hated.

I wasn’t saying that I am intelligent because I did well on some random test, I’m just saying that a national test is the one of the few ways to get recognition outside of your high school, and I was upset that what I had worked so hard for had been sullied by Senor Douze

I came on here to vent and if you got the impression that I’m some thumb twiddling (^^ thanks above poster) rule stickler, then I apologize? If it was some random test in school I’d have just looked the other way, but when do you draw the line? When do stop getting offended and just allow other people to walk all of over you? That was my rationale and if you can’t understand that, then we just have very different perspectives.
