someone explain LSA honors program

i got offered a place in the LSA Honors program. i dont really know what that means. all i know is that honors is higher level, more respected program, or something along those lines. id really appreciate if anyone could clear up what this means

i really don't know much about the honors program either, but it's something that i'm looking forward to--it's got smaller classes, more access to teachers, the option of honors housing which provides a better setting for studying (although i don't know if it's more well-furnished than the other dorms), an overall better learning environment... i heard someone say it's the best (or one of the best) honors programs in the nation.

Im in the honors program.. and classes aren't necessarily smaller... Great Books lecture is like 400 students

Is there an honors engineering program? Is it something one applies to, or do they automatically admit you into honors if you qualify?

calloftheblade- what do yo ulike/dislike about honors?

calloftheblade, are the housing options different? are the course options different? do u take classes with people not in honors? can u tell us anything thats special?
