Someone explain what dorm bathrooms are like

Ok i have never visited a dorm and i understand the bathrooms are shared and stuff but how exactly.

Like there is 1 bathroom on the whole floor????? or is it like a bathroom in a gym or something?
when you shower do you have to shower with others? or are you in your own shower stall with like a door and stuff?

i knwo its a weird question.

well it all depends on the dorm. A lot of schools are now building newer dorms with suite-style bathrooms. If you're in a traditional dorm then there will be one or two bathrooms on the floor, depending if it is a single sex floor or not. At my school there are 4 bathroom stalls and 4 shower stalls. If you're worried about modesty, bring a bathrobe. And I highly recommend shower shoes.

yea, suite rooms (at least the ones at my school) have 1 toilet and a sink per two rooms, with communal showers (for the whole floor). Non-suite rooms use the toilets and sinks in the communal bathrooms. The showers are divided, so it's not a public shower, but they are all in the same place. And yes, there is one bathroom per floor unless it's a co-ed floor, then there is one guys bathroom, one girls bathroom.

ok, but in the communal showers .... are they like with shower curtains and doors and stuff? or can you see people and can you like totally open the shower curtain and junk like that?

community latrines with matted hair of all colors clogging the shower drains.

they have shower curtains. at my school, the bathroom is shared by 26 people. with 2 showers and 2 toliets...but one of the showers/toliets is handicap accessible

nasty! i am terrified now

they are like (at least at my school) tile walls dividing the showers, with shower curtains (that you can't see through) over the individual showers. I guess if you really wanted to, you could pull away someone's shower curtain and look at them... haha... it would be kinda weird of you though... haha

i am thinking, where else can i shower?

lol...it's not that bad...when you think about it...you spend what? 10-20 minutes out of the 24 hours in a day in the shower?

it's really not that bad, heh, just that you have to wear sandals. It's not like the showers are communal, and usually they are off in their own little divided section, with its own curtain.

to tell you the truth, i roomed with a guy who was in the room 24 hours a day, i used to shower to get "alone time" heh.

Umm maybe you guys shower for 20 mins

BUT it will take me like 40 mintues to wash my hair?

where do u shave your legs?

Where do u groom???????????????????????

uhh im a guy so i dont know about shaving your legs

eh, i've already seen everything there is to see. :)

"Where do u groom???????????????????????"

you'll have to go Bohemian for the time being-- hairy armpits and legs, bush so hairy that it would break a weed wacker. At least all the girls at UCB are like that anyway.

that is beyond NASTY.

I guess i am going to go to china town and have the asian ladys do me.

but thats expensive.

................that is so gross. Anyway, if you're worried about having privacy, youll begin to notice times on your floor where the bathroom is completely empty for you to do what you need. I always liked showering at 12am before i went to bed.

yes, i guess i can wake up at 5 am and bathe.

lol...my roomie didn't bathe for 3 days straight. he was proud of himself. i stayed out of the room as much as possible. Thank god i have a single with a bath next semester.
