Someone help me with financial aid applications pleasee~

I think that depends on your parents’ employers. My father filed his 2010 tax return a week ago. You need to talk to your parents.

Columbia, Penn, and MIT seem to like having 2009 returns instead of 2010 if 2010 are not available. The rep from Harvard that talked to me said they recognize that many international applicants have this problem, and recommended waiting for 2010 tax returns to be available before sending them to IDOC (i.e. do not fax 2009). Some other schools just have their deadlines a bit later (i.e. March 15-ish), and I will probably have my 2010 tax returns done by then, so I didn’t inquire at those places.

I believe February 28th was the last day that employers are allowed to distribute T4 slips to employees, so you should probably expect to have all the forms done pretty soon. You’ll be able to do your tax returns soon, hopefully.

Thanks so much for all the help guys!

My parents are probably going to do it this week, and they told me that it might take a month to get the tax returns…o.o
But say if it’s by mar 15, do i need to warn the schools that I won’t get it done until the 15th? Or perhaps I can mail my 2009 stuff plus 2010 t4 to IDOC and include a note saying that I will send the 2010 stuff when available?

It’s better for your to send an email to the Financial Aid office indicating your situation.

Sounds like a very valid solution to me.
