I don't get it. I have an A average at a really, really competitive private school in NY. WHY DO I SUCK SO BADLY ON THE SATS?

Soph year PSAT = 1440
Junior year PSAT = 1750
And on my practice tests I've been scoring around 1750-2000

I take the SATs in April. I don't take classes because I have no time due to extracirriculars. I've been doing the pracitce tests in the blue book and i am 1/4 into Rocket Revolution. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? I have less than 3 weeks! I will be crushed if I get under a 2000.

Take a deep breath. Relax.

Maybe your school has grade inflation or you don't have a good strategy to take SAT. Just keep taking practice tests, learn from your mistakes, and develop effective strategies. Remember, you are a junior, and you can always retake SAT if you are not happy with your first one. Good luck!

I Have Da Same Problem!!

1570 Junior PSAT. I haven't started studying yet. I hope I can break 1800 by May. Then 2050 by October.

I would strongly recommend you get Cracking the SAT. It has the best strategies for the SAT, by far. It also has a handful of practice tests that are pretty good too, esp. since they have answer explanations and the CB tests don't come with those.

I know many are against them...but my SAT did not reflect my GPA/rank and we hired a tutor who raised my score 320 points for a fee of 75$/hr...my parents said they would do it again without hesitation.
