Is it possible for someone with a 3.9 weighted gpa to get into brown rd ?
I have a lot of ecs but nothing too extraordinary and my essays are pretty good.

Also how much does the mid year transcript affect admissions?

Depends on what your unweighted is.

Hi fluffythings!
Well, that depends. A 3.9 is a fantastic gpa to have, but it shouldn’t be the only shining star in your application to Brown. What extra curricular activities do you participate in? Are there any that you feel truly passionate about? Brown is all about uniqueness–they love creativity and students that can express themselves. Also, you can’t forget about your SAT/ACT scores! Those can also effect your chances with Brown.
Also, your mid year transcripts can effect your chances with admission. BUT don’t fret–just keep your grades UP! Don’t slack off because your a senior! If you send your mid year transcripts with a startling D or…F, then that might cause some issues with your admission to Brown.

Good luck, fluffythings, and I hope I helped just a little bit.

P.S. ALL of this is verbatim of what my college counselor told me.

Oh, and like bruno14 says: your unweighted GPA could also have an effect on your chances with Brown.
Honestly, I’d talk to your counselors and ask.
Good luck!

Thanks-- all of you ! that helped a lot
my unweighted is about 3.57
SAT: 2250 Reading 800 Wrigint 680 Math 770
SAT II: Math 800 and im planning to take bio this weekend

I had all As and a B+ last quarter so I’m hoping my mid year transcript helps a little

I’m in most of the honor societies at my school and am a co president of one of them
I do a ton of volunteer activities and I had a job from freshman to junior year
My ecs are pretty standard I think

Do art supplements help the application a lot or do they not care too much about them?

I think my common app essay is pretty good but I’m really lost with the other brown supplements at this point.

Are any of you guys applying this year ?

I know that a lot of people who are applying/got accepted have/had gpas well over a 4.0, which is why I’m worried ):

Yes the gpa is low. Have you taken the most rigorous schedule possible? How do you rank? What are your SATs? If you have outstanding artistic talent a supplement can be helpful.

As a courtesy, use descriptive titles for threads, for future ref.

Thank you for the feedback
As stated my sats are2250 and 800 for math2
I will have 9 aps by the time I graduate and I’m not sure of my rank I think it may be around 20 %
My art supplement is pretty stellar in my opinion and my common app essay has been revised several times and its unique and shows my personality
Is brown way out of reach ? My recs are amazing As well my scores are what will hold me back the most I think

Sorry, I’m fairly new to the site. ThAnks(:
