Hi everyone! My situation is, I went to a CC for two years and have completed everything that i need to transfer to a 4 yr college back in 2006. I applied to SF STATE AND SJSU and got accepted. I didn't end up going because I ended up having a child and I pretty much have to put everything on hold. Anyone here know if I need to take any special testing in order to reapply to these universities since It has been 4 years since I've been to college?. This coming august will be the time frame the universities are accepting application for spring 2012 and I would like to have enough time to prepare everything I need in time for the application.

Any information will be appreciated.

THANK U AND GOD BLESS!!

You don’t need to take any tests again. Just report those grades and if you have to write any personal states for the CSU’s then explain the gap of years there.

Note the threshold for getting intp SFSU and SJSU has changed drastically in the past four years since you applied for transfer. Are you a “local CCC transfer”–meaning were the majority of your CCC credits taken at one of the CCC-feeder schools for SFSU or SJSU? If so, then it is probably fine. (See chart link below.) If you are non-local CCC transfer, you will need a very solid GPA to get accepted. (For example, I know of a non-local CCC transfer with a 3.3 who was turned down from SJSU.)

Also, Spring admissions might be cancelled (it has in several previous years lately)–though it is a good sign that as of now (summer) they are tentatively going to go ahead with them. From SJSU website they say “As of early 2011, SJSU expects to open for Spring 2012 applications for undergraduate transfers. Space may be extremely limited.” Etc.

Good luck.
