<p>Financial aid deadlines are much slacker than admission deadlines. Definitely go ahead and apply. Yes, the FA application and the admissions application are handled by different offices, usually. They will process the FA application, but the real deadline is that they have to have everything and be done by May 1st when you have to inform the colleges of where you are actually going to attend.</p>
<p>When you do the FAFSA online, you need to sign it electronically. You do this with a PIN that you apply for online. Both you and your parents need to have separate PIN's. Apply for the PIN's as early as you can because they take day or two to get back to you with them.</p>
