Hey guys.. so I know this is so late in the game to be asking this question (AHH!) but I'm a senior and I just can't seem to think of any good safety schools. I need at least one school that I know I can get into, just in case.. :( haha
Anyways. My list of schools right now is basically UVA (number 1 choice), Duke, UNC, USC, Boston College, UCLA and Wake Forest.
Not going to bore you with too many stats but I have a 2310 SAT (800 CR, 740 M, 770 W). Fairly good EC's, good sports involvement, involved at school and volunteering. Great recs, good essays.
Can anyone PLEASE help me in thinking of one or two possible safeties for me? I'm an international student from Alberta, Canada who isn't going to need financial aid. I want to go to school somewhere warm! And for majors I'm thinking of poli-sci or psychology, but I'm going to apply as an undecided major.
Thank you sooo much.. any input is appreciated! :)

As far as I’m concerned, you have good chances at all of the schools on your list, anyway. But, if you’re still concerned about safeties, look at other state universities in the south, particularly those that offer guaranteed admission to applicants with certain GPA/SAT requirements. In fact, at most of the schools that fall into that category, you’ll be eligible for scholarships based on your stats, too.

University of Florida
University of Alabama
University of Georgia
University of Mississippi

Etc.

Thank you- I will definitely look into that!
However, does anyone know if these schools give merit scholarships to international students?
(If it helps, I’m going to recieve my International Baccalaureate Diploma in June)

University of Miami gives merit scholarships to international students. Here is the list of requirements and the amounts awarded (I don’t know if these scholarships are automatic or if these are the minimum requirements, but you could call them up and check):
