this goes to people who have completed the transfer admissions process, alright so when you are transferring, when schools ask you for your official high school transcript is it ok to make a copy and send it yourself, or do you have to go back to your high school and ask them to send the transcript for you? any responses are appreciated thanks

no they want it from your school directly b/c the school will put their official seal on it... something like what you get when you get a letter notarized- raised seal type thing... that ensures that it was not altered by the student. Stupid, but you know there are those students that did some adobe on it to give them straight A's

As for all transcripts, it has to be sent directly from your high school. I went to my high school to get mine an I was surprised that they still had it in the file cabinets. What if there was a fire or a flood and that was the only copy they had?

you can go to your high school and they will give you an transcript w/ an official seal that you can send in yourself

they most likely have scanned all copies from before the digital age into their system and have them stored on the server. A kid a few years ago hacked into it from my school and gave his entire senior class A's... so yeah. they have them
