OK, so recently I changed my CommonApp to transfer student from the first-year student. I am currently a sophomore who will be applying some colleges for the junior year in FALL 2018. However, when I changed my account to transfer student, CommonApp asked me when I will change my college. I selected “2017 or 2018”. When I was filling out CommonApp, it asked my “Current or Most Recent Year Courses”. I started to fill out but I was only able to select classes as “First Semester, Second Semester or Full Year”. Even though, I completed 3 full semesters by now, how can I show my third-semester classes under “Third Semester”? I have gone crazy about this problem. Someone help me solve this.
Also, why am I restricted to select 15 classes???
The question asked by the Common App is:
An academic year has 2 semesters. If you are trying to report more than 2 grading periods (for lack of a better term) in a single year, then change your answer to the question “Please select the course scheduling system your institution is using.” to quarter.
Few people take more than 15 classes a year. If you are one that does, then list the additional ones in the additional info section.
@skieurope I want to report 3 semesters, not 3 quarters. I am currently sophomore and this Spring term will be the 4th semester. Can you tell me how can I fill out my second-year classes, Fall 2017,? It seems like CommonApp sees me as a freshman student.
Again, it is asking you to report the classes for the current year. So that means Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. It does not want you to list past years; that is why a transcript is sent.
You select freshman applicant or transfer applicant when you create the Common App account. If you selected incorrectly, AFAIK, you would need to set up a new account.
