Hello! I recently got admitted into UCSD for human biology in Sixth College, which I put as my first choice followed by Muir. Unfortunately, I did not understand just how important this decision was when applying as I am probably moving to New York, but looking further into student reviews of Sixth College versus what is presented on the UCSD website baffled me.
I discovered how heavily weighed Sixth College is upon more social sciences and language arts-oriented courses as well as the emphasis on social life. Looking further into this, I discovered that John Muir (as most people idealize), Warren or even Revelle would better suit my interests and major.
I understand I am at fault for not looking more into this aspect of the college, but I learned that you can only switch with someone (or take the place of one who is not attending), or you can go through a tedious transfer process after having been in the college for at least a year I believe it was.
So please, if there is anyone out there who got accepted to Muir, Revelle, or Warren who wants to be in Sixth or is absolutely sure they do not intend on enrolling at UCSD, I would like to switch out of Sixth before the Fall term begins.
Other than that, I would really appreciate more insight on Sixth College from anyone who has attended there just in case I do end up bearing the consequences of my poor decisions… I greatly appreciate your time.
