Someone tell me!

OK--As long as I have remembered, I have been extremely ambitious (see the username), and I have come from a family full of big shots. Sisters went to BU, Harvard, brother went to McGill. I am pretty smart guy, and I have started a lot of things, but my grades are not perfect. I am currently a male, Jewish, Israeli-American sophomore in a ridiculously competitive private Waldorf School in LI, NY. I really need insight if as of now I am good enough, and what I could do in the future to get into a top school (my dream is UPenn, Georgetown, GW,...).
Here are my general stats and expectations:
My sophomore year has been OK, I have maintained an overall average of 93. Unfortunately, my freshman year average was horrible (mid 80's) and I am afraid it will keep me out of college.
-Our school doesn't have AP's (the courses are supposed to be "just as hard if not harder").
-I am among the best in my class of 28 people.
--I am expecting to get between 1950-2100 on the SAT's, hopefully close to perfect on the -CR.
-I will take the US history SAT 2's and probably get well above 700, and maybe world history and spanish.
-Model UN for 4 years--serious committees and distinctions (lead delegate)
-Founder/Editor in Chief, Carmonreport.com. (political opinion website I have been writing since Freshman year)
-President of Freshman Year
-President of Sophomore Year
-(future) Student Body President (I am running this year all but unopposed)
-Founder/Moderator of Politics Club (I lead the class solo)
-Piano 11 years
-Varsity Soccer, Baseball 4 years
-Volunteer, Waldorf Community Service Club 2007-present
-Volunteer, Waldorf Choral Society 2005-2008
-Volunteer, homeless shelters
-Volunteer, Obama Campaign
-Employee, Garden City Golf Club
-Chetz-va-Cheshet, summer in Israel, 2008 (platoon leader)

I plan on working in politics this year (for local congresswoman or something, taking classes, and working for a homeless shelter).
I do not want to brag, but interviews would be my best thing, as I am much better in person than on paper. I can get very very good recommendation letters (my history and principle want me to run for congress). I live and breathe politics, and I probably want to major in something like government, poli-sci or international relations.
Anyway, next year I am hoping to increase my average into the mid 90's, but I am unsure if my 9th grade averages will kill me. Can someone tell me if that matters?
Please tell me if I am good enough? I will work as hard as I need to.

also, I am fluent in hebrew (took the regents in 8th grade 96), and i can speak conversational spanish (i am prepping to take the SAT2 hopefully.

thanks everyone!

My sincere advice is to travel. Big universities (like Harvard, Stanford, etc) like to see that you’ve been places and soaked up the world. When you’re writing about your experiences in life, reflect on something that is you. Don’t tell them about some difficult thing you struggled through - people have been worse. Draw on a positive event that changed you, and usually travel is a great resources to draw these types of experiences from.

Travel was the centerpiece of all of the essays I wrote for college admissions.

well i have traveled to the following countries:
israel every summer, england, norway, holland, germany, france, spain, switzerland, italy, monaco, DR, canada, egypt,…

but otherwise?

Take the SAT 2 in Spanish, colleges love multi-lingual people

are you seriously asking people this question? “keep me out of college”…I don’t understand how some people think they fail at life with a B average for one year and an A average in another. You’re only in 10th grade. relax and keep your grades up. that’s all you can do.

I definetly agree with Anya, with the political backround, I don’t think 9th grade will effect you that much.

Ugh. Dear God. Really? Mid 80’s are, in your terms, “horrible”? And a average of 93 is “OK”? B’s are not a horrible thing. They WILL NOT keep you out of college. Just so you know, getting into college IS NOT the most important thing in your life. You can get into a not-as-prestigious school and be JUST AS HAPPY! Imagine that?! I had a 2.9 GPA in high school and went to a great 4-year school and have never been happier - now I’m on the Dean’s List with a overall cumulative for my freshman year of 3.4. Just so you know, college is not everything.
