something a friend did

Hey,

So I have a friend who graduated last year. He had really really reaaallly wanted to go to West Point, and then he'd gotten wait-listed. He told me he'd gotten into West Point, and it also said that on his matriculation info (our school comes out with an issue of the newspaper that has where all the seniors are going) but later, after like a semester or so, he came back and is now attending BU. I'd thought West Point was a 4 year school. Does anyone know what's up with that? Is there a program that lets you attend for a semester or something, or did he just transfer?

Thanks.

Yes, WP is a 4 year leadership and academic program. Cadets who leave before then may decide that WP is not for them and resign/quit, or they can be separated by the academy for one reason or another (medical problems, grades, not performing physically, honor code violation). It's probably best not to speculate about individual cases, I just wanted to give you background info. Not everyone who gets accepted to WP makes it through the 4 years, but a high percentage do.
