Something Different

This is for the people who went to a CC, now can someone tell me how that life is. In my mind I see a prolonged high school? How's the social/dating life, if any?

it largely depends on what highschool/college you attend.

Everyone has his own social/dating life,it's difficult to give you a general idea.Anyway,in my personal experience, college and highschool are very different.

To be honest, you don't have to worry about it.After you go to college, you'll know what it is to you(not to my or someone else, others' experiences may be different)

CC in a way is an extension of high school, except that most people are older and are parents, and social life is really lacking so you don't really get the college experience in my opinion

i agree, completely

My CC (I'm just dual-enrolled...I won't be spending next year here, haha!) is VERY social. We're right on a lake, and there is always a pick up beach volleyball game or sun bathers out there which is a HUGE social outlet for the school. Additionally, my CC has dorms and a very social student union building. In only one week, I've seen lots of dating and we already have a few new "couples" in some of my classes. (And lots of drinking. Ha.)

About age...hmm. We do have some older folks (like 45, and they ask really annoying questions during the simplest of math lectures), but only a few. I'd say most people here are 18/19 and fresh out of high school. They are usually looking to save money before heading to "real" college.

I wouldn't liken it to the high school experience, even though there are quite a few dual-enrolled high schoolers at the school. I realized this CC is in the minority, though. :)

I attend a CCC and I'll say the social scene is almost non-existent. We're a commuter school with no dorms. People generally hang out with their high school friends. Being a commuter school, parking is a huge headache, with you spending an average of 30 minutes looking for a spot.

It sucks.

Oooh danislost, A++ about the comment re: parking. While we do have dorms, quite a few people commute and parking is a huge PITA. I can't believe I forgot to mention that.
