My last interview happened a few hours ago and the person that I interviewed with said my interview was ideal and asked my dad if it would be ok if he met with me where I live in one month to further discuss the school was an option.

So basically, it seems like he is making a trip to the area and wants to talk to me... Does that happen often? Does it mean I messed up my interview or that he is legitimately interested or what?

wow, that's the first story of that kind i've ever heard.......i would guess that he's more legitimately interested

Was an alum or an admissions officer?

He was the assistant of dean of admissions and director of student of Color Recruitment.

I live about 500 miles from Andover so it isn't like a little hop and a skip to my city.

You might check out the school's road show (admissions officers visiting various cities) if they have it on the website. You might find that he will be in your vicinity at the time he indicated.

So while he might not be taking a road trip just to see you, you did stand out enough to warrant another visit, which is a solid positive. I think it is an offer you shouldn't refuse.

I will have to miss school, but that really doesn't matter. I will definently say yes. I mean our first interview went over an hour and my the time that he talked to my dad went about 20 minutes. So it wasn't like we didn't get a full interview session in or anything.

HE is going to be in the area during our meeting. He told me he tours(for recruiting) my city at that time, I forgot to say that. So he is going to be recruiting near me and is going to meet with me.

I had never heard of another visit like what is happening to me, and was actually worried that is was a "hush-hush" thing at first... But I have called boarding school friends and they have never heard of it so that is good.

All in all I am happy about it, Andover was by far the most unique and personable interview so it will be great to talk to the guy again.

That is really great. I would say it's a positive sign.
