Something has been bugging me for awhile

The way I understand it, prestigious colleges evaluate applicants based on how well they perform in the context of their schools. I attended a very prestigious and demanding high school in NY freshman year but then my family moved to MI at the beginning of sophomore year and I ended up going to the local high school. I think its obvious that the curriculum at the school I attended in 9th grade is much harder than that of my current school (Algebra 2 there was harder than AP Calc BC here and I'm not even joking). My grades reflected that gap in difficulty and therefore... well ... basically I'm not the valedictorian because of 2 A- from my old school. I also couldn't continue many of the EC's. Would anyone who has been in a similar situation like to share their experiences. If you were an admission officer, how would you evaluate my case. I would appreciate any thoughts and comments.

MrMom, you started my weekend with a smile. Thanks.
