Something interesting on my self service checklist - possible admission indicator?

So i logged on to Cornell's self service for kicks and giggles today. On my financial aid to-do list i can see something labeled Federal Verification Worksheet. I looked up what that is and it's one of the forms continuing students have to use for financial aid; the due date is 5/01/2012. So i'm wondering now, could this maybe mean that i'm in the system as a student (meaning i'm accepted)? It's probably just wishful thinking on my part, but i'd love it if some others could check and see if it's appearing on theirs as well.

Federal Tax Return-Student 02/15/2011 Cornell University Financial Aid

Mine says Federal Tax Return-Student, who knows. What does everyone else’s say?

I have two due dates: March 30th, 2011 and May 1st, 2012.

Mine had that on there until i turned in my student non-filer form. The Federal Verification Worksheet showed up after i submitted all my financial aid material (though i’m not sure how much later).

RiffRaff, has your family had a sudden change in income over the past few years?

Hey Oregon i went through that thread and didn’t really find anything definitive. But no, my family has not had any sudden change of income over the past few years. I’m probably just reading too far into this haha. We’ll all find out in a couple of days anyway.

Haha, I’m sure that we are. I made the mistake of only applying to Cornell (and my state school), so I’m harboring quite an anxiety. That thread would be more helpful if the people who received that FA notice posted their acceptance/rejection on the thread. Oh well, good luck, I’m off to do my homework.

Google “FAFSA verification” and all will be explained. The govt. picks some at random. Colleges can choose FA apps for verification also.

i have that too since the beginning of this march and have been thinking the same thing! i called last week and they said financial aid has nothing to do with admission :frowning: and that they actually need the form now…i called today and this girl said that its a good sign…who knows. it would suck if they gave us this hope and it turns out we’re not even accepted.

had* month*

OMG, mine disappeared today! CRAP :(

@grac3yy: You called Cornell yesterday regarding the Federal Verification form and someone said it was a good sign?

“No current to do item information found.” on financial aid to do list… bad sign :(?

Hmm I have it on my account… hopefully it’s a good sign because I’d hate for it to not be.

Did you guys all apply for financial aid? Because I didn’t and therefore mine says no items something something…

I did… I guess it is a bad sign.

“No current to do item information found.” on my financial aid to-do list.
Is this a bad sign? ):

I don’t think so. Like I sent in my items last week, and I supposedly had those due dates, 3/30/2011 and 5/1/2012, but when I checked today, those due dates disappeared. I guess they received them, probably today.

I am so effing anxious. I am kinda ****ed thought because two girls in my school got likely letters who are undeserving. Then again, one person from our school got in ED, who is deserving. I wanna get in soooo bad!

Maybe those forms aren’t due till later (giving people hope that they’re only due for those who got it)… or maybe those are just forms that AREN’T DUE TILL LATER but people already sent them in?
