Something New...

Hi. Why hasn't anyone been posting much? I don't know
but I guess I'll start something new in here.

I am only a sophomore in high school but I am already interested in discovering which college I want to go to. Howard has been on my list since forever. But before I make up my mind officially, I want to get an idea of Howard, other than what they put on their website. So if you've been accepted/denied to HU, go to HU or already graduated, thought about applying but didn't, or like me, you are interested in going to HU but you can't apply yet, please take a minute to fill out this survey. It will let me and other students get a feel of what HU and its students are like.

Just copy and paste this list below. Then fill it out. If you know how, make a list using vbcodes. If you don't know how and you want to use them, feel free to ask me.

PS: If you think I'm missing something, please let me know.

Thanks!

Additional Info About You:
I'm in a full IB program and I as also a National Achievement Semi-finalist, whom they love. This guy called me and talked to me for 40 min about why I shuold go to Howard. So if you really want to go there, study up for the PSAT to be a NA Semi-finalist and you'll basically be set. If you become a finalist you'll get a full ride plus 950 dollars towards books and stuff. Also, without my NA status, I still got a full tuition plus room and board through a school scholarship. I would suggest prepping and doing well on your tests because that's a big indicator to them that they want you in their school

If you see any mistakes dont assume that Im dumb..Im trying to type this message fast before class at 12.

I love Howard. It is definitely a great place to be for anyone who needs a different envoronment. It is so much better than High school I am trying to be unbiased in my rating of HU. It has problems like every other school. Let me run through some of them quickly.

Problems:
*Administration is understaffed therefore slow in data processing and sometimes moody.
*There are lots of rich kids here with attitudes.
*Some of the dorms need updating.
*Our shuttles to the metro station are slow.
*Sometimes the showers have cold water.
*Its a fashionable university...sometimes overly fashionable
*If you thought you were all of that and a bag of chips in HS, you will change your mind when you get here because you will be NOBODY
*EVERYBODY has a sidekick II or a black Razr (so yours means nothing)
*The math department suckssssssssssssss
*Dont come here for architecture or math

Pros:
*You will get a good job if you manage to graduate
* Everyone here looks good
*The DC metro system is excellent...probably the best in the country
* There are malls everywhere
* You will meet lots of people
* The School of Business and College of Medicine are great
* There is a hospital on campus
* Georgetown,GWU,American,UDC,Trinity and other colleges are only a few metro stops away
* You will NEVER be bored
* There are free tutors on campus to help with homework
* HU is a private school
* We're better than Hampton, Morehouse, Spellman and everyone else (Check the US News ratings...HU is the only HBCU on the top 100 list)
*Freshman can get internships
*HOWARD IS NOT IN THE GHETTO..THE IDIOTS WHO SAY SAY ARE SUBURBAN FOOLS WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT A "GHETTO" IS. HU IS AN INNER CITY SCHOOL IN A NEIGHBORHOOD CALLED "SHAW" IN NW DC. THERE ARE MUCH WORSE AREAS OF DC THAN SHAW. PEOPLE WHO GET ROBBED ARE STUPID...IF YOURE NOT DOING ANYTHING DUMB, YOU WILL NOT BE ROBBED...

and I'm done venting......

oh yeah...in addition to what i already posted about myself; I hate standardized tests like the SAT; i don't really think it can measure my ability to do well in school really well. I have a bad case of mind wandering which can really hurt me on those tests but i did manage to do well. I was named a National Achievement Referred Scholar, not semi-finalist but it's still pretty good. I was also named an Outstanding Student of America in which I went through an application process. I have my own organization, Teens for AIDS Awareness. I'm in National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. I love Spanish and plan to minor in it. My first love is medicine and I aspire to become an invasive cardiologist, cardiac surgeon or infectious diseases specialist. I love reading, dancing, acting and writing my own stuff like poetry and short stories. Enough about me, what about you guys???
