Something Special/Different?

I'm curious, did anyone do anything outside of resume, transcripts, etc. to help schools see how much you want to go there? Like phone calls, letters, etc. And, did it work?

bummmmppppppp

bumpedy bumpedy bump

In interviews and book, many adcoms advise against sending extra “I really really want to go here!” materials. Such materials don’t add anything to your application (after all, would you hire an employee at a top company because they really really wanted to work there, or because they were qualified?).

Yup, sent a letter ad painted the campus! Accepted and attending!

The way I formatted my essays was kind of special/different, they were formatted in pictures, I hope it didn’t come off as gimmicky.

interesting. skydancer- what school was that?

Thanks pfips123! It was the College of William and Mary. The acceptance rate for my demographic is very low, so I think the extra steps really helped.

oh okay. that’s pretty neat.
