I always like taking the stairs instead of the elevator when I go to class. It is a lot faster and it doesn't hurt to have the exercise.

As I was walking up the first flight of stairs, somebody walked going down the right side of the stairs (my right side) where I'm supposed to be walking. The funny thing is he didn't do anything. He acted as if he didn't do anything wrong. He made it as if he did nothing wrong. It didn't make be mad, it is just something that annoyed me.

Another example are when 2 or 3 people are walking in a line left to right. They don't separate so they can let people walk up or down the stairs, but they use the whole length of the stairs so you have to wait for them to pass in order to get by.

I’ve found that the majority of people have horrible sidewalk etiquette. It’s probably my biggest pet peeve. Sometimes when I’m outside running and I’m heading toward a group of people in a line blocking the entire path, I get the barely repressible urge to tackle a few of them.

Stairways, however, I don’t often have a problem with.

The walking on the right thing is sort of an unspoken rule, but I honestly think you should let it go. It’s not like they were driving down the left side of the road and hit you and then yelled at you for being on the right side of the road!

…Although I do agree it would be nice if people learned proper sidewalk etiquette!

You just have to get that look like you’re going to walk through them and they’ll move out of the way. It works for me when people are being stubborn and taking up the entire stairwell and I’m late - I must look really mean or something for it to work because I’m just a female freshmen :)

I actually know exactly what you’re talking about. After all these years, what do I do? I’ve given up. Now, I walk wherever the hell I want to walk, and if it includes being in the path of somene who somehow hasn’t mastered proper sidewalk etiquette, then it’s their fault.

That “somehow” satisfies it a bit, at least for me.

I was going up a stairwell a few years ago and a girl infront of me was wearing one of those pairs of shorts that had her name and high school written on it, and, to my surprise, she had gone to my high school (college far away from high school, very few students went to my college from my area)! We both wind up getting off at the same floor, so I comment on it to her. She asked me how I knew what school she went to so I mentioned I noticed it on her shorts. She got all ****ed and walked away. :(

So, moral of the story. Even if you see something interesting on a girl’s butt, don’t mention it to her.
