What's the whole point of college if you can't afford it? i mean..the number 1 reason for high school graduates not going to college is finances. If this country is based on equality, shouldn't every high school graduate have equal opportunities to get a great college education? I mean, some kids can't even afford state colleges!!! Something's wrong with that.

Also, middle class high school students end up busting their asses in high school, trying to find scholarship money, filling out that damn FAFSA, and half their FinAid ends up being loans..!!!! This has been bothering forever..especially now, since im a senior now. What do ya'll think.

Welcome to America, the land of inequality.

College is possible to anyone who wants to go. However, what are you willing to do? What will you give up to get there? A nice car? beer money? free time?

There are a thousand ways to get to and through college.

I did it two ways. A basketball scholarship and I hated it, dropped out. Then went to work, and worked my way through. It took a little bit longer but I did make it on a 6 year/4 year plan. It meant working alot, but I still had time to play, socialize, get married, own a home, have a kid. I just learned to go on 4 hours sleep.

College is something you have to want, it is not a given. Now for my kids, they both have a anothe way to get through school. They both hit the books hard and earned scholarships. That was their job. They gave up alot to get theirs too. Different than mine, but no less difficult.
I wouldn't trade my experience with them, but I wanted them to get there on their own way.

Always remember you can quit at any time if you want to. I'm not trying to be mean to you, but ya got it all wrong. What is your education worht to you?

that's why the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor.

Everyone has the right to seek and work for the happiness they wish. If education is your goal, you will find a way. NOBODY is given an education. One must actively pursue, and actively participate in the education process. It's not like filling your gas tank, pay the cashier and get $20 bucks worth. Sure we're not all dealt the winning hand, but it's not a game of 5 card stud, it's more like poker, you get to play 'em, hold 'em or fold.. it's up to you.
