How am I looking for these schools? Am I reaching too high? I'll be applying EA to Georgetown, ND, BC, and UNC. I wish I could just get these next few months over with...

Ok, so this is important; Where was your dad an undergrad? His undergraduate alma mater will give your a bit more pull than his grad school.

That said, you're in Gtown's middle 50 with a great GPA and pretty good ECs. I don't know how much admissions is going to care about your weightlifting ability or which seat you row (unless you're stroke it doesn't really matter) but the rest of it is good. But you're from NY, meaning your competition is going to be disgusting. You could get in, you might not. It's kind of a tossup. But going EA will help.

But Tufts is going to be your reachiest school, with UVA, UNC, and William and Mary also reaches (but lower) because you don't live in VA or North Carolina (your sister attending will not help you).

You're obviously into the SUNY, but I'd say that UMiami, Babson, and Case are also good safety type schools.

Emory, Notre Dame, and BC are matches.

With Cornell being a reach, because it just is.

I agree with SES. Tufts, Cornell, and Gtown are your reaches probably in that order due to your father's legacy (if he was indeed an undergrad there).

Yea, my dad went to GTown for his undergraduate studies and NYU for law school. I'll be applying to McDonough (the business school) where my numbers will be more impressive than they would if I were applying to the college (b-school's SAT ranges are 660-720 CR and 680-760 M).

^ This would all be superflous information if there was a 'Georgetown School of Power Cleans'...

Thanks for everyone's thoughts!

Quick question for ses: the fact that my sister goes to UNC-Chapel Hill really won't help? I saw that there was a section for "relatives who attended/are attending UNC" on their app and assumed it would...

The family section is useful in some ways, if you can fill it to the brim with relatives who went/go/or work at the school. Otherwise...not so much.

Bumping for more insight, specifically Notre Dame, UNC-Chapel Hill, Georgetown - McDonough school of business, and Boston College - Carroll school of management.
