Somewhere in admissions land today...

...your interviewer is fighting for you to stay in the admit pile around the admissions committee table, desperate cries of "but she has to come here!" are heard from outside the conference room...

...the director of financial aid is being as generous with your scholarship calculation as she possibly can, given the current global economic crisis...

...the dean of admissions is carefully signing your acceptance letter with his highest-quality ballpoint pen...

...an administrative assistant is neatly placing all the paperwork into your "fat envelope," wondering with a smile what your reaction will be when you find it in your mailbox...

...the current students are getting super-excited to host you for revisit days in the spring...

...GemmaV is wishing you all lots of fat envelopes on March 10th. Best of luck...

Thank you. I think I speak for all of us here on the CC when I say that we truly and dearly appreciate your support.

Hope we will all get into Hogwarts and meet you! =)

Thanks GemmaV! Yes you have been so wonderful!

GemmaV,

Thank you for making thoughtful contributions to our world of conjecture! I am not certain if you teach classes at your school as well, but you have been a generous teacher in this forum. Your timing is impeccable and your posts soothed many wild speculations. When people don’t know the answer, it seems that human nature makes us fill in the blanks with whatever we can find.

I am not a frequent poster, but I have been lurking around here since last fall. Given all the “views” that posts receive, I am guessing that there are a lot of people like me out there: parents searching for information—trying to understand and support the interests of our children.

You took the edge off for me. I believe that you represent the kind of people that may own such a large piece of our children’s lives if they attend BS—and these kids look to be in very fair and thoughtful hands.

Sandwindsun, you said it better than I could have.

Neato—you are another good voice!

I learned a lot from you, too. I don’t know how things will go on M10 for my daughter, but I do know that I felt a little bit better about this process when reading the insights of poster-parents like you! Thanks!

Good luck, everyone! I hope your dreams come true next Tuesday.

Last year, I stayed up past midnight with my son's email inbox "open". Sure enough, at 12:05 a.m. an acceptance email arrived from his top choice! I had to scream and cheer silently so I wouldn't wake up the entire household!

This year I'm praying for my niece to be admitted to Governor's. I don't plan on staying up, but I hope to hear she received the fat envelope!

Relax and enjoy the weekend if you can! :)

Do schools email the decision as well as posting on their websites?

I agree with Neatoburrito... couldn't have said it better, Sandwindsun. Even though I didn't find CC until after we submitted apps, GemmaV's posts helped this very naive and ill-informed prospective BS parent feel better about the process and the people we'll be entrusting our children to should they be accepted. Thanks! And good luck everyone!

Thanks baseballmom! You too have been a wonderful source of info/support! Thanks!
