My son was deferred for early admission to first year college( did not put 2nd choice) his goal is to matriculated to engineering . Weighted gpa 4.4 , unweighted 3.5
ACT 26. Original SAT 1610. Retook in Jan and went up to 1720.
Lots of extra curricular activities : NHS, varsity baseball player, active in church youth, etc…
Just a well rounded guy. Accepted to App, Charlotte and UncW. He Really wants NCSU!
Hoping the increase in SAT score (even though still below average ,will help)
Any thoughts or suggestions most appreciated .
At this point, it really depends on the RD admission pool. His grades and test scores are what they will be looking at during the final round. If his test scores and senior fall semester grades were good, then he may get in. He was deferred because they thought he was an above-average student, but they still needed more evidence to see if he would be a definite fit for NCSU. Good luck to him! Applicants will be notified by the end of March.
