Son Forgot to add "Tour" Taken on Dartmouth Application

My son submitted his application to Dartmouth and did not check the box indicating if he had taken a tour or visited the campus. We did visit the campus and spent a wonderful day there. We did not take an official tour, but walked through many of the buildings on our own and throughout the campus.

I feel this is important to the Admissions Committee that someone would take the time to visit the campus. It's about a 6 hour drive.

At this point is it worth trying to let them know that he did take a tour and how should we best communicate this?

Thank you in advance for any input!

No. While some schools look for demonstrated interest (to gauge the likelihood of matriculation if admitted), Dartmouth isn’t one of these. They have plenty of qualified applicants and are comfortable with their “yield” rate.

It’s very common to have “detail remorse” after applications are submitted.
I overheard an admissions officer at Dartmouth laughingly tell someone that the Director believes in “yield blind admissions”. I think this is the case.
By contrast, Columbia and Penn (and previously Harvard and Princeton) typically take half the class early.

I wouldn’t bother. We live 3 hours away from D, and my S was accepted even though he had only been to a local admissions event. His sole exposure to the campus had been being driven through it a year or so earlier by me (“Look! Beautiful school!! Get interested!!!”) when we were in the area.

If he has some additional material to send to the committee, he could mention how much he loved his campus visit in the cover letter, of course.
