Jenns mom
You should be so proud of your son's nomination...Our son is a plebe (freshman), we dropped him off at "indoc" in July and followed his 'routine" daily for 6 weeks via the "parents'' page pictures, it was so exciting waiting each day for the pic's to be posted and to try to ''find" him. My husband and I got to see him for Acceptance day the first time in Sept....Rob came from a small catholic high school in Florida, so imagine the change... We have found that although the school is very demanded by curriculm and regimental training, he loves it~When he came home for Thanksgiving break, already he knew he set himself apart from all his other college friends. Your son must be ready to accept the "military" drilling, because it stays pretty constant thruout the freshman year...Rob will come home again for almost 2 weeks over Christmas, he knows he works hard, however, getting to come home is his "reward"...I would recommend the Academy hands down without reservation. He has become a "local" hero here in this small Florida town! Good luck~

why the need to put quotes on all of these random adjectives. i don't get it

Marathonmom2003: Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I do believe that my son has a good sense of what is expected and he's ready for the challenge. Although all of the final pieces are not quite in place for the big decision, we believe that it will probably be USMMA (85% sure anyway). Thanks again...I'll be looking for much more guidance in the weeks and months ahead. Happy Holidays!
