<p>The other way to be a "five-year freak" is to test at an earlier than usual age. CTY usually tests first with the SAT in seventh grade, but CTD tests with the SAT beginning in sixth grade, and those scores can establish eligibility for CTY, CTYI, etc. programs. My son was told last year that he was a "six-year freak" at the CTYI program in Dublin, but I don't know if CTYI has the same upper age limit as CTY. By my count, he could be a "five-year freak" in the United States, with his summer birthday, but he used his second year of eligibility to go to the [url=<a href="http://www.mathpath.org%5DMathPath%5B/url">http://www.mathpath.org]MathPath[/url</a>] program rather than CTY. </p>
