Son now doesn't want to attend Harvard...what to do?

Reviving this thread, OP - we all want to know what happened with Stanford!

Yes, I would like to know also.

ME TOO! Although I am a huge fan of UVa, and think the OP’s son with be happy there and receive a great education, I know his dream was Stanford. So did he get in off the wait list? If not, he will love Charlottesville. I have not been back in years. I miss the dogwoods in the spring and the leaves in the fall.

Yes–I wonder if OP’s son got off the waitlist at Stanford…

So what happened?

I have to assume that he did not get in because we have not heard back for the op.

Hi- I can’t believe here I am over a year later (hope better late than never still applies  Well, he did end up getting off the waitlist! He completed a wonderful very successful year at Stanford! Things did end up working out afterall…and for this we are grateful and thrilled. It ended up being everything he wanted and expected it to be, he never looked back and certainly had no regrets. The ONLY thing is living so far from home but it makes our visits that more meaningful.

Now we are dealing with his younger brother, who is just about to jump into the college admissions arena…bracing myself for anther round. Though I realize there is no way we could have the sit on the edge of your seat nailbiting drama we encountered with my older son.

Thanks for asking…TRULY appreciate all those that took the time to comment and help him make that very important decision. Listen to your heart…100 years from now it will be the same message. :)

That’s great! :)

THanks for letting us know how it all turned out - and congratulations on helping S get to where he needs to be

Wonderful! Thank you for the update.

Congratulations Kaywarn203, I am glad your son is having a great time at a great school that fits him well.

Thank you for the update, I’m happy for all of you. Best wishes for the sibling and the new round.
