Came in the snail mail this afternoon. Included a nice certificate of admission. He also got two other letters with his CWID and a student checklist for the next steps of the enrollment process. Got a nice UofA window sticker too!

Congratulations!

Outstanding! Roll Tide!

when did your son apply, OP?

He applied July 20th. His GC works through the summer so she must have gone ahead and sent his transcript that same week.

generally, once the admissions “rush” starts, does anyone know how long it takes for admissions to reply after the application is accepted?

Roll Tide Roll! Congrats :)

We got ours in the mail today as well. Didn’t get the nice certificate of admissions though :-(

gamomof3 - The certificate came in a separate large envelope. I bet you get it soon.

Exciting, I will have to go over to the new(old) house today to see if the mail came as I think I gave them the new address. Was hoping to have moved in by now, but oh well. Car sticker would be great except I can’t get his b’s sticker off and he’s been out for 5 years, maybe a razor. Roll Tide.

Congratulations! Sure is exciting to already have an acceptance in hand. Hope we get a sticker too Funny how little touches like that mean so much!

Idinct - when you attempt to remove a stubborn sticker on a car window, try this neat trick. Use a hair dryer on an extention cord to heat the back side of the sticker BEFORE you attempt to remove the sticker. You may still have to use a single edged razor blade but by warming up the adhesive, it should come off much easier.

This works great on all types of retail or manufacturer stickers.

maybe you can peel just enough of the sticker off to expose the underside (the sticky part)…then work your through the rest with some wd40 and patience

you can also carefully burn the top layer of the sticker with a lighter or blowtorch…it’ll make scrubbing the thing off a lot easier cause it thins the sticker and melts the adhesive…be careful though

Son received all three letters today as well.

Congrats to everyone! I just received my admissions offer through email - definitely an exciting moment! I suppose something will come through snail mail soon?

I like the hair dryer on the back idea- then I can get in with a razor. Of course he actually has to get the letter.
I don’t know about everyone else, but S seems to have lost the motivation to work on his common ap essays! I’m sure he will rally when school starts and everyone else is up to their knees in applications, but for now he is living in the moment. I don’t think he’ll do a dozen aps like his classmates, but I could be wrong. The shoulds keep mulitplying - “I should be going on interviews” (do any of the colleges you are applying to require interviews? probably not. “I should visit & apply to a couple of schools in the NorthEast” (we live there). I don’t think there are any serious contenders in the NE and he hates cold weather. But I am sure we’ll be hitting the road again.

just wait until he starts the essays two nights before they’re due :)

S2 also received his 3 letters today. It was fun to see that little smile creep across his face when he opened his first acceptance letter. Now we have to figure out how the app process works for the Honor’s Program.

At 5 o’clock I will be toasting all the new Bama kids!

My daughter received her first two letters last Thursday, and the admission certificate today! I think I’m more excited about it all than she is. She’s still reveling in making principal chair in our local youth orchestra (flute), with her first rehearsal this evening.

Now we’re waiting on letters of recommendation from her band director, orchestra conductor, and flute instructor so we can submit her application to the School of Music (music minor).
